This page explains what cookies are, which ones this website and the Familiar app use, and how you can manage them. The short version: this site sets none, so there is nothing here for you to switch off.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to keep. On a later visit the browser hands it back, so the site can recognise the same browser and remember something about it.
Related technologies do much the same job — local storage, session storage, tracking pixels — and everything said below about cookies applies to them too.
Cookies on this website
This is a plain marketing page and it sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising network, no tracking pixel, and therefore no consent banner, because there is nothing to consent to.
The fonts and images the page uses are served from the same address as the page itself, so loading them tells no third party that you were here.
Because we set no cookies, there is nothing on this site to switch on or off.
If that ever changes, this page will list every cookie by name, purpose and lifetime, and a consent banner will appear before any non-essential cookie is set.
Cookies in the Familiar app
The Android app is not a browser and uses no cookies. It keeps your meetings in a database on your device, and it holds a sign-in token so that you do not have to enter a code every time you open the app.
Both are removed when you sign out or uninstall the app. What the app stores, and why, is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party services
Signing in with Google takes you to Google’s own consent screen. What happens there is governed by Google’s cookie and privacy policies, not by ours.
Our backend, hosted by Supabase, issues a session token that authenticates your requests while you are signed in. It is strictly necessary for the account to work and cannot be switched off while you are using one.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can inspect, block and delete cookies from your browser settings at any time:
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Safari — Settings → Safari → Advanced → Website Data
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking cookies across the board may break sign-in on other sites. It will not affect this one.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever the site or the app starts using something new. The date at the top always shows the current version.
